What is Counselling?

Counselling is mainly a listening - and talking - based method of addressing problems and change. It may be concerned not only with mental heath but with your way of life which might include your spiritual, philosophical and social views.


Counselling is an opportunity to talk about your difficulties and look at them in a supportive environment without interference or judgement. Its purpose is to attempt to enable you to find answers to those difficulties.
Professional counsellors have had formal training and are supervised in their practice.


When should you consider counselling?
If you are finding it difficult to be objective about your situation, or feel isolated or alone and need someone to talk to, then counselling might help.
